Roos James is an up and coming Makeup Artist from the North East, who is known for their creative, editorial looks and music video works.

Roos stumbled into a Makeup Artistry career as a teenager, after discovering that her love of creating fun looks to express herself also allowed her to be creative, free and to be expressive in a way that she didn’t know was possible. A drive to create, craft and learn new skills allowed her to be able to create items for projects ranging from postiche to nails, clothing and even origami head pieces. After graduating with a 1st Ba Hons in ‘Media Hair & Special Effects’, Roos decided to go Freelance and began working on an array of photo shoots and projects throughout the UK.

Today, Roos is an independent Makeup and Beauty Studio owner with 6 years industry experience covering every kind of Makeup possible. Travelling throughout the UK, with aspirations to work across the world, Roos has worked under renowned Makeup Artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis as a member of her Makeup Assisting Team on multiple ‘London Fashion Wee'k’ shows for Designers including Sarah Regensburger, Kay Kwok and Karina Bond. As a solo Makeup Artist, Roos has also completed Makeup for private Fashion Shows by designers such as ‘Ferragamo’. Roos’ passion lies in Editorial and Runway Makeup.

During her career, Roos has also worked for a variety of artists creating Makeup for music videos ranging from RnB Artists to Metal Heavyweights. Her style is distinct and expressive which creates a truly unique look, incorporating colour, free-form lines and a crisp finish.

Oracle Beauty opened in September 2022, bringing a new and truly one-of-a-kind studio hub for Beauty and Makeup. The LGBTQ+ safe space studio is a cosy and comforting take on the classic beauty studio. Focusing on beauty treatments that emphasise a client’s natural beauty, Roos brings together Cruelty Free products and industry leading training from the likes of ‘HD Brows’, ‘Nouveau Beauty’ and ‘Beauty Backed’ to bring tailored, beautiful results to every client.
